This ecosystem is at increasing risk from human activity. It's up to all of us to protect and restore it.
Ocean Blue Project is part of the solution.
We're empowering individuals and communities to be stewards of their beaches, streams, rivers, and ocean— making a difference for our sustainable future.
About Ocean Blue Project
Ocean Blue Project (OBP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Corvallis, Oregon.
Our mission is to protect and conserve the ocean and its associated waterways, through:
- Hands-on, volunteer efforts to clean beaches and rivers, enhance wildlife habitats, and reduce pollution
- Service learning projects that provide education and increase awareness of the critical importance of clean waterways
OBP was founded in 2012 by Richard Arterbury and his son Fleet, inspired by the conservationism of their Native Choctaw roots and their shared motivation to gift a clean ocean for future generations.
Our main programming areas include:
- Blue Beaches — removal of microplastics and other debris from beaches coast to coast
- Blue Streams & Rivers — urban stream/river restoration including planting of native trees and vegetation
- Blue Schools — grade-school curriculum to help students become stewards of their local watershed
The majority of OBP's funding comes from individual donations, and contributions from socially conscious organizations like yours.
